November 1, 2020 – Message from Reverend(s) Glenn and Heather

Hello Folks! Well here we are at another Code Red and its time to hunker down and wait out this situation. Since you folks are inundated with news and anything regarding Covid-19. We will now focus on another day instead. Remembrance Day.

Our Dad, in the Spring of 1941, lied about his age to join the war effort against Nazi Germany. He was 17. For four years he fought in the front lines, was wounded twice, in France and Germany. He was a very young soldier who was part of the first wave of the liberation forces in Europe. Landing on the bloody beaches of Normandy, liberating France, Holland and eventually Germany from the tyrant Hitler and his henchmen.

When he returned, it was considered a miracle he survived! And survive he did, outliving the battles that killed his best friend, who died in his arms, friends and comrades and even the Commanding Officer of his battalion. It indeed changed his life forever, seeing the worst of what humanity can do to their fellow man.

What makes his life even more incredible is the fact that he lived to a ripe old age, had children and grandchildren, and he never spoke of the war until was in his 80’s. He said unless you were there, you could never grasp what happened and never understand the ferocity of living those times on the front lines. His strong faith in God, and St. Andrew who was the head of the Queens Own Cameron Highlanders, he felt, saved him. Did you know that World War 1, called the “war to end all wars” killed 17,000,000 people world wide? World War 2 was worse, killing 73,000,000 people world wide. Albert Einstein was asked how World War 3 was going to be fought and he said, “with sticks and stones.”

Now we would like to bring you back to present day. It is for these reasons we remember. The massive amount of humanity that was lost, and wars are still happening today around the world. Mans inhumanity to man. Those brave men and women who gave their today, for our tomorrows. Our own remembering about our lives and how we came to this very day, may bring our own sorrows to the forefront. Remember….scars show you where you’ve been, but don’t dictate where you go.

Do not dwell too long on your past, and the trauma you may have experienced. Give it a moment, and let it go.
For your sake, and for the people who gave their all, so we can have a future…..be grateful for their sacrifice. To honour them, be thankful you have eyes to read this and a life…..to make it what you want, whatever you want. Live each day fully and in doing this, you will honour them and the sacrifices they made. God Bless!

“Thanksgiving Message” Reverend(s) Glenn and Heather

Hello Folks and Happy Thanksgiving! We realize this greeting, which intends to bring you joy, may not feel like it if you have had a weary 2020 due to the Pandemic and all it brought to your life.

Spirit, when you ask for the highest and the best, will always bring you unconditional love. Where can you look for something to be thankful for? Start with the God-Spark within. It is no mistake you are on the Earth Plane. There will be other things to be thankful for if you just look around.

Do you have eyes to see, ears to hear, a mouth to speak words of encouragement and love to others? How about arms to hug, starting with self and family. We all know Covid-19 brings social distancing, and a big hug to self may be the only one you have….but let us remind you it is the first and most important hug you give.

What is so hard about this weekend is the fact that many families will not be able to have the large dinners that can be so important in family dynamics. We too share disappointment with regards to scaling back and cancelling altogether. How sad, and we feel a loss there. Lets take a moment in our day to reflect back on this year and we are sure you will find, amid the sadness, something, to be thankful for. Give thanks for Life, give thanks for family, give thanks for friends and neighbours who really have your respect and care about you. You do not need to be lonely when you look up at the blue, blue sky, white clouds, sunshine, sunsets, sunrises and even the rain can be refreshing.

It all depends on how you look at things. How do you see life in the day-to-day? So to all you who are reading this message know it is written and sent with peace to all, life to all and love to all. Ask God for your health, wealth and happiness. As you receive the little miracles along life’s way, look up with a wonder and gratitude and give thanks.

To everyone, we have something to be very grateful for this weekend! We have found out we are permitted to have a Church Service next Sunday October 18th, at 10:30 am at Sunova Centre/West St. Paul Centre, 48 Holland Road in West St. Paul. (On the North Perimeter) OurService will be held in the gymnasium as we all need to social distance (the 6 feet-2 m.) Bring your masks as they are mandatory. We have the hand sanitizer, which is also mandatory. You must register for our Service to attend. Limited attendance.

If you would like to attend, please call us at (204) 338-5505, (204) 390-6609, (204) 802-1395 to register your attendance. God Bless, each and every one of you!

September 20, 2020 – Message from Reverend(s) Glenn and Heather

Hello Folks! We are both very excited to start up our Church Services once again on Sunday October 18th, 10:30 am. Reverend Glenn will be doing the first “Talk” and we are so glad! It is sure to be amazing (as per usual). Since we have a few Sundays before our Fall Opening we will be giving Website Messages up until then.

Now down to the Message. Do you feel as if you are heading into a new start with the advent of Fall? Just know we are on board with you in wishing the Covid-19 pandemic would be over and done with. Reality says we are into “new norms” and this may last for awhile, maybe for years.

What concerns us is the propensity for depression and a giving up of self in what seems to be a never ending situation that has crept into our lives. The remedy may be one of starting at square one. What is square one you say? Making the most of the saying “one day at a time” and kicking it into your reality, your daily life.
There is a lot to be said for looking for the positive each and every day. You reading this means you have eyes to see even if you do wear glasses or contacts. There’s a start. While confined to home, we redid the inside and planted a garden. It was good, as well as needed and the time was right. The message here is never, ever give up. No matter what!

Manitoba is fortunate to have services for a variety of situations. Just make sure as the Fall sets in and wWinter comes our way, to ask and look into what is available for you. Whatever it is you need assistance with. You may be surprised at what you find when you seek! You may be amazed to find people so ready to listen to you.

Our Church is a warm and welcoming place where you can find peace and folks willing to lend an ear. (with social distancing and masks of course). So what have you learned about yourself in the past six months? Reverend Glenn will be talking about that very subject on Sunday October 18th. We look forward to seeing you, and know our Services will be held in the gymnasium for the rest of this calendar year. God Bless!

Good News and Bad News!

I’ll give you the bad news first……We are unable to have our first service this Sunday (September 20th)

The Good News is…….

Services will resume on October 18th, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. in the gym at the Sunova Center. We will be social distanced and masks are mandatory.

We will have masks on hand for anybody who doesn’t have one.

Church Services

Hope everyone has had a great summer.

Some news about services:

  • We are unable to open for church services for the first weekend of September.
  • We are hopeful that we will be able to have a service on September 20th.
  • We will put a notice up on the site as soon as we know when our first service is.

June 28, 2020 – Message from Reverend(s) Glenn and Heather

As most of you folks know, our Church is closed for the summer months of July and August. Both of us want to wish you all, the very best that the summer of 202 can offer.

Just know we are only a phone call away (204) 390-6609 or if an emergency (204) 338-5505. Do your best to be kind to yourself and others. Our world is in dire need of your kindness and positive thoughts. For each picture of misery you see, just know there are many stills of wonder and grandeur that you can find when you look for the positive.

Remember the proof provided by quantum theories that have shown positive thoughts are hundreds of times stronger than negative ones. You have the ability to change your world if you choose to do so. Nothing is beyond what you can envision and imagine for yourself. The only thing standing in your way is you. Enjoy our beautiful Manitoba summer and remember to live fully one day at a time. Live the moment!

Hopefully September will have some form of normalcy, and life can start the Fall with a new norm, a better one at that! Take care and God Bless each and every one of you. We will see you then!

June 21, 2020 – Message from Reverend(s) Glenn & Heather

A hearty and wonderful greeting to all Father’s on this very special day! So many ways to say Father. Dad, Daddy, Poppo, Papa, and all nationalities with their Father pronunciations. There are Step-Fathers, Grandfathers, old Fathers and young Fathers. There are those whose children are not of the same familial bloodline, who love and treat those children so very lovingly and who consider these children as their own! Hats off to these wonderful men!

There is a saying, “Anyone can be a Father, but it takes a special man to be a Dad!” For those lucky and loved children who have men in their lives such as these….well you are well respected and looked up to. When we were children, we used to say to our parents, “There is Father’s Day, Mother’s Day… when is it Children’s Day?” The inevitable answer from our parents was “Every day is Children’s Day!”

Father’s Day is the one day of the year, a special tribute is made (and rightly so) to these very special men. So many times Father’s are taken for granted. Children sometimes don’t know or even realize what personal sacrifices are made by these amazing men. All the incredible things Father’s do for their families are done, so willingly! Today we celebrate you! May God Bless each and every one of you today and always!

June 7, 2020 – Message from Reverend(s) Glenn and Heather

Hello Folks! There are so many ways to pray and a multitude of prayers that have been created over the centuries by every religion throughout the world. It is a way people worship God, talk to God, ask for answers, look for ways of living that will bring health, wealth and happiness.

The situation our world finds itself in with regards to the Pandemic has many, many people world-wide looking up to the sky and asking, praying for an end to this scourge. Many folks feel deeply as their lives have changed and not always for the better.

We say that prayer is asking God and meditation is listening to God. People don’t always know the way of prayer, don’t always know how to start and are wondering if there is a format. It is not a matter of how you fold your hands or even if you fold your hands at all. Sometimes you can just “feel” a prayer, standing in nature looking up to the blue, blue of the summer sky, opening your arms, spreading hands and fingers and feeling the joy in your whole body, heart, mind and soul.

We have a prayer we open our Service with, and it is beautiful, with great meaning. Just pray.

Oh Creator of All, permeating the entire Universe. Honour and Glory to You.
Your Divine Love pervades, is within and blesses all. Your Natural Law guides on the physical and Spiritual planes. Your Grace and Spiritual energy sustain us abundance prevails. All life is growth, so we judge not ourselves or others. Lead us on our paths, inspire us, and heal us with your White Light, Life and Love are continuous, For all is God and Perfection. Amen!

Sunday May 31, 2020 – Message from Reverend(s) Glenn a d Heather

Hello Folks!

Hard to believe the 5th month of our year 2020 ends today. Heading into June tomorrow, gives the feeling this year is passing by at warp speed (with apologies to Captain Kirk) How fast time is passing….we will be out and about before you know it, physical distancing included of course.

We wanted to talk briefly about a short line from an obituary we read many years ago. The obit was of a gentleman who was a dearly loved Husband and Father, well loved by his family, and his friends. We don’t remember his name, as it was awhile ago. We don’t remember the particulars of the obit. However what we do remember was the love with which the family took to tell the world about this man who was so incredible in life. So what made this obit so different from all the others the Winnipeg Free Press has printed over the decades?

Many people have written over the years, about their loved ones who had left such a mark in their lives after their passing. Here’s the thing about this one. Just before the end of their tribute, they took a line from their Dad and told us what he had said. They said their Dad made it his mission for every family member to have:
“A place for everything, and everything in its place.” They said their Dad drove them crazy with this saying and this was said frequently. We had to laugh! How many times have our parents given us advice which we then laughed, rolled our eyes and went on with life. Remembering later on what our parents said as we grew wisdom. Funny tho’ that this one saying from their Dad had stuck with us, complete strangers at that! When we had a tendency to let things go, to be too tired to do anything else, we would say this line to each other and knuckle down to do the remaining task….at least we tried to make the effort.

Now with Covid and keeping us home bound; it was a good time to get a lot things in our home into better, more effective working order. The first rule of business was just this saying. Make a place for everything, then keep everything in its place. What a sense of accomplishment to finally achieve this. We often think of this man’s saying. Little does his family know what their beloved Dad said, has made a difference in the life of complete strangers. Stranger still, we have repeated this often to our own family and friends..

So what is it in the various areas of your lives, that you need to have a place for everything and everything in its place. So much can be read into this. Also what are some “gems” and sayings that have made a difference to you and have resonated with such upliftment, you have repeated it yourself to your family friends and neighbours alike. We need to remember that we don’t always have influence in people lives. They may not remember us, but they may remember our words and what we have said! God Bless!
